I am related to the Thames family though my Brooks and Beeman family. Millie Elizabeth "Betty" Brooks married William Robert "Billy" Thames. This family made an impacted on Newton Co., MS. Billy Thames was a farmer and possible had one of the larger farm in the area. One son Talmadge served the County on the board Supervisor. Another son James "Jim" was a postmaster and was quoted by his peers as being the one person most responsible for acquiring the college in Decatur, Newton County, Mississippi. A large number of this family became school and owned local business. I only entered the portion of the THAMES that I am related to. Other family members in the County are researching the family. I do not have their address or name.
