Ray Beeman was the first to publish a book on the BEEMAN families of Mississippi. I have most all of his records and have added a large number of family members to his list. My Beeman connection in Newton County, Mississippi began with my grandmother Mary Rebecca Beeman daughter of James Ivy Beeman Savannah Woodward. I list my grandmother as being born in Newton Co., MS but most likely she was born in Lauderdale Co., MS. Most of James Ivy Beeman land was in Lauderdale County and some say his house was in Lauderdale and other say his house was in Newton County.
